Dr. Rebecca Lang has over 28 years of experience in the field of health promotion working in the area of clinical practice, public health, health promotion programming, and 9 years in the field of lifestyle coaching. Becky is a Professor in Health and Physical Education at Grand View University where she teaches courses for the health promotion major.
Dr. Lang completed her BS degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of Iowa, her MA degree in Health Education/Promotion at the University of Northern Iowa, her Doctorate degree from Drake University in Educational Leadership and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. In addition, she has completed an intensive training program on Motivational Interviewing at the National Wellness Institute, completed advanced training through TotallyCoached® and completed all the requirements to given the designation of a Certified Wellness Coach through Wellcoaches, Inc. which is associated with the American College of Sports Medicine.
She is co-author of a motivational perpetual calendar called LifeWise Living, which is referenced in the best selling book Life Makeovers by Cheryl Richardson, personal life coach featured on Oprah. In addition, she worked as a consultant on an exercise video titled GENTLE FITNESS, which won first place in the American Medical Association’s International Health and Medical Film Competition, and was a winner of the National Health Information Award.
Becky is the author of a chapter on health behavior change in a textbook for health professionals and has worked as a consultant and presenter of continuing education programs and training programs on behavior change and health coaching for health professionals, business leaders through out the United States and Internationally.
She is passionate about sharing the transforming impact evidence based behavior change coaching can have on individuals whether it is in an organization, a clinic, a gym or a home. Once people integrate behavior change coaching in their lives and see the paradigm shift, they never look back.
